Frequently asked questions
How do you decide what research to cover?
We cover studies published in peer-reviewed journals — such as the Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery — that have direct practical implications for cat owners. We do not cover pre-prints or single-source press releases without corroboration.
Where do safety alerts come from?
Safety alerts are based only on official notices from veterinary medicines authorities (such as the UK VMD or FDA CVM), accredited veterinary bodies, or confirmed manufacturer recalls. We do not post alerts based on social media rumours.
Can I submit a news tip or research paper?
Yes — email hello@purrview.com with a link to the original study or official source. We review every submission but cannot guarantee publication. Tips about product safety should reference the official notice or batch number.
What does the changelog track?
The changelog records every significant change to existing guide and library pages — not just new additions. This includes corrections, source updates, and wording changes. It is inspired by the transparency practices recommended by the Pew Research Center journalism standards.
How is the newsletter different from the news feed?
The newsletter is a curated monthly digest — one email summarising the most important new guides, tool launches and safety alerts. The news feed on this page updates continuously. You can read the feed without subscribing.
